CFK Tugas shine at NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championship

爱游戏体育' swim team showcased their talent, determination, and Tuga Pride at the NJCAA National Championships held at Indian River State College, March 6-9, 2024. CFK Athletic Director and Swim Coach Lori Bosco accompanied six swimmers to Fort Pierce to represent the College for the third time at a national championship since athletics was reintroduced to campus in 2020. The Tugas competed in a total of 17 individual races and two relay races. All athletes qualified to compete in their respective events based on times attained at previous meets in the current season. The Tugas鈥 performance was marked by outstanding achievements and personal bests across various events. The women's team secured an 11th place overall finish with a total of 20 points, while the men's team claimed 10th place overall with 45 points.

CFK's VIP Series examines 鈥渦ntold story鈥 of the Cuban Missile Crisis

爱游戏体育 continues its 2024 VIP Series with 鈥淔lorida and the Untold Story of the Cuban Missile Crisis鈥 on Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m. in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. The presentation will be led by New York Times bestselling author Michael J. Tougias. In its tenth season, the College鈥檚 VIP Series invites the community to learn from the Views, Ideas, and Perspectives of speakers of local, regional, and national prominence. The 2024 season includes presentations that focus on timely topics relevant to Keys鈥 audiences.

爱游戏体育 receives national designation for excellence in maritime training

The U.S. Department of Transportation鈥檚 Maritime Administration (MARAD) announced that 爱游戏体育 (CFK) is among 32 entities designated as Centers of Excellence for Domestic Maritime Workforce Training and Education (CoE) in 2024. This is the second consecutive time that CFK has received the designation, which it will hold for the next five years. The College was among the first recognized by MARAD in 2021, the last time the designations were bestowed. The CoE designation recognizes colleges and training institutions that are demonstrably successful at preparing students for careers in the maritime industry. These institutions are located in 17 states and one U.S. territory. CFK is one of two organizations and the only college in Florida to receive the designation.

CFK promotes Project ACCESS

爱游戏体育 invites prospective students and their parents to learn more about its Project ACCESS program at a virtual information session on Wednesday, March 13 at 5:30 p.m. Project ACCESS is an inclusive postsecondary education program for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. The personalized program includes academics, social activities, employment experience, and independent living. Students can participate in Project ACCESS at CFK鈥檚 Key West Campus or Upper Keys Center in Key Largo.

CFK Foundation鈥檚 virtual silent auction and WaveRunner raffle runs through March 1

爱游戏体育鈥 (CFK) Foundation is hosting a two-week virtual silent auction and a raffle for a Yamaha EX Limited WaveRunner. Both activities are part of the twelfth annual Seaside Soiree fundraiser to support CFK students and programs. Bidding in the silent auction opens on Friday, February 16 at 6 a.m. and ends on Friday, March 1 at 8 p.m., in concert with the event, which will be at the Islander Resort in Islamorada. Both the raffle and virtual silent auction offers opportunities for individuals to support the College鈥檚 fundraising efforts regardless of their attendance at the Seaside Soiree event.

CFK Tugas excel at 2024 TYR SoFlo Open swim meet

爱游戏体育' swim team showcased outstanding performances at the 2024 TYR SoFlo Open, held at the Academic Village Pool in Pembroke Pines, FL from January 19 to 21, 2024. The meet saw multiple achievements by the swimming Tugas, with several personal best times, national qualifications, and a school record broken.聽

Tickets on sale for CFK鈥檚 鈥淪words & Tails鈥 Seaside Soiree fundraiser

爱游戏体育 (CFK) invites the community to 鈥淪words and Tails: A Seaside Soiree鈥 on Friday, March 1 at the Islander Resort in Islamorada. The twelfth annual event will feature costumes, fine dining and cocktails, and live entertainment by the 79th Street Band. Tickets and sponsorship packages are available for the fundraiser on the College鈥檚 website at www.cfk.edu/soiree.

CFK holds 67th Commencement Ceremony

爱游戏体育 held its sixty-seventh Commencement Exercises for the fall class of 2023 on Tuesday, December 12 in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Forty-four graduates donned blue and orange graduation attire to receive their diplomas. The College expects to award a combined total of approximately 72 credentials, including bachelor鈥檚 degrees, associate degrees, and college credit certificates, to fall graduates.
