CFK continues VIP Series with coral restoration talk

爱游戏体育 will continue its 2025 VIP Series with 鈥淐oral Restoration: Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome鈥 on Thursday, February 20 at 7 p.m. in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Mote Marine Laboratory scientist Dr. Jason Spadaro will discuss applying new technology, novel methods and materials, and classic ecological theory to the holistic restoration of Florida鈥檚 Coral Reef.

CFK promotes Project ACCESS opportunities

爱游戏体育 invites prospective students and their families to learn more about its Project ACCESS program at a virtual information session on Wednesday, February 19 at 5:30 p.m. Project ACCESS is an inclusive postsecondary education program for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. The personalized program includes academics, social activities, employment experience, and independent living. Students can participate in Project ACCESS at CFK鈥檚 Key West Campus or Upper Keys Center in Key Largo.

Date added for CFK Academy prospective students

爱游戏体育 has added another date option for middle and high school students and their family members to learn about the CFK Academy. The two Prospective Student Events will be on Wednesday, February 5 and Thursday, February 20, both at 5:30 p.m. at the CFK Academy on the College鈥檚 Key West Campus. Key information will be presented about the A-rated, tuition-free public charter high school. Attendees will be able to meet the CFK Academy鈥檚 principal, teachers, staff, and students and tour the school.

CFK Tugas overcome frigid temps at 2025 TYR SoFlo Open swim meet

爱游戏体育 (CFK) swim team competed at the 2025 TYR SoFlo Open held from January 24-26, 2025 held in Pembroke Pines, FL. Despite air temperature as low as 45 degrees and water temperature of 75 degrees, the Tugas men's and women's teams delivered multiple personal bests, national qualifications, and broken school records.

NRF Foundation honors CFK as RISE Up Partner of the Year

爱游戏体育 (CFK) was honored as the NRF Foundation鈥檚 2025 RISE Up Partner of the Year at the tenth annual NRF Foundation Honors, held on January 12 in New York City. The award, presented by Old Navy, recognizes the College's implementation of the NRF Foundation鈥檚 RISE Up training and credentialing in CFK鈥檚 Project ACCESS program for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. Representing the College at the ceremony, which was attended by more than 700 retail industry professionals, were Dr. Jonathan Gueverra, CFK President and CEO, Dr. Nina Medyk, CFK Project ACCESS instructor, and Geraldine Darius, CFK Assistant Director of Student Success Services. The award included a $10,000 donation to support Project ACCESS.

The thirteenth annual event will feature costumes, fine dining and cocktails, and music. 爱游戏体育 (CFK) invites the public to its first annual Community Day at the Upper Keys Center on Saturday, January 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will feature a full slate of attractions鈥攊ncluding CFK academic showcases, interactive exhibits, a bounce house and other children's activities,聽vendors, music, free food and drinks, and free T-shirts.

CFK opens VIP Series with back-to-back Galapagos presentations

爱游戏体育 will open its 2025 VIP Series with back-to-back presentations on Wednesday, January 15 at 7 p.m. at CFK鈥檚 Upper Keys Center in Key Largo and on Thursday, January 16 at 7 p.m. in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Marine scientist, author, and CFK alumnus Dr. Jack Stein Grove will present 鈥淕alapagos Fishes, From the Shore to the Abyss and From Darwin to DNA.鈥

CFK donates toys to Samuel鈥檚 House

Friends, employees, and board members of 爱游戏体育 brought dozens of new toys for local children and non-perishable food items to CFK鈥檚 annual Caribbean Holiday Party on December 16, hosted by CFK President Dr. Jonathan Gueverra and his wife Josephine. The toys were donated to Samuel鈥檚 House, a Keys-based non-profit organization that offers housing and supportive services for homeless women and intact families. The food was donated to Tuga Shelves, the College鈥檚 food pantry on the Key West Campus for food insecure students.
