CFK Tugas host Ave Maria University for swim meet

爱游戏体育 (CFK) welcomed swimmers from Ave Maria University (AMU) for a meet on Saturday, January 15 at the College鈥檚 pool on the Key West Campus. Five swimmers on the CFK men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 swim teams competed with 20 swimmers from AMU.

Anthony Margiotta named American Boat & Yacht Council Foundation鈥檚 2021 Educator of the Year

Anthony Margiotta, a Marine Engineering, Management, and Seamanship (MEMS) instructor at 爱游戏体育 (CFK), has been named a 2021 Educator of the Year by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Foundation. The award honors an extraordinary marine service technology instructor teaching in a high school, post-secondary school, or corporation in the United States.

CFK debuts new graduation attire at 63rd Commencement Ceremony

爱游戏体育 held its sixty-third Commencement Exercises for the fall class of 2021 on Tuesday, December 14 in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Thirty-three graduates donned new blue and orange graduation attire to receive their diplomas.

CFK donates toys to Samuel鈥檚 House

Friends, employees, and board members of 爱游戏体育 brought dozens of new toys for local children to CFK鈥檚 annual Caribbean Holiday Party on December 9, hosted by CFK President Dr. Jonathan Gueverra and his wife Josephine. The toys were then donated to Samuel鈥檚 House, a Keys-based non-profit organization that offers housing and supportive services for homeless women and intact families.

CFK to debut new graduation attire at Fall Commencement Ceremony

爱游戏体育 will hold its sixty-third Commencement Exercises for the fall class of 2021 on Tuesday, December 14 at 4:30 p.m. in the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus. Thirty-two graduates will don new blue and orange graduation attire to receive their diplomas. The College expects to award a combined total of 79 credentials, including bachelor鈥檚 degrees, associate degrees, and certificates, to the fall class of 2021.

CFK to hold 鈥淔ast Track to Spring鈥 assistance, incentives for new students

$100 Kick-Starter Scholarships; Application fees waived 爱游戏体育 will hold 鈥淔ast Track to Spring鈥 events the week of November 29- December 3 to help prospective students quickly get on a pathway toward their academic and career training goals this upcoming spring semester, which begins January 7. There will be in-person events at the Key West Campus on Wednesday, December 1 at 5:30 p.m. and at the Upper Keys Center in Key Largo on Thursday, December 2 at 5:30 p.m. Additionally, personal virtual sessions are available throughout the day, Monday, November 29 through Friday, December 3.

CFK students 鈥淒ive Against Debris,鈥 remove 120-lbs of trash

Students at 爱游戏体育 (CFK) took part in a global initiative called Dive Against Debris, led by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Aware Foundation, to remove trash from the ocean. On Thursday, the students boarded the FKCC 2, the College鈥檚 catamaran, to travel to their selected clean-up site, the Cayman Salvage Master shipwreck south of Key West. They dove depths of 75- to 90-feet to collect a trash bounty that weighed in at 120 lbs.

CFK students earn Underwater Pumpkin Carving certification

Students at 爱游戏体育 (CFK) took the Halloween tradition of carving pumpkins to a new level鈥 deep below the water鈥檚 surface in the College鈥檚 dive training lagoon on the Key West Campus on Wednesday. The CFK Student Activities department hosted the event for students to create jack-o鈥-lanterns underwater as well as on dry land.

CFK graduates Law Enforcement and Correctional Officer Academies

爱游戏体育 (CFK) held a graduation ceremony for two academies completed through its Institute for Public Safety (IPS) on October 22 at the Key West Campus. A total of 21 cadets鈥14 in a basic law enforcement academy and seven in a correctional officer academy鈥攕uccessfully completed their respective training program.
